Members of volunteer hose company #2 participated in the Rockland County Volunteer Firegihters' Association's fireman parade on September 10th, 2023. We were lucky enough to avoid the inclement weather during the march and had a blast marching through our very own town. This year's parade feels quite different for us because we are missing the late ex-chief, Frank DeGroat. In honor of him, we did two things this year to commemorate Frankie: 1. We created a banner of Frankie carried at the front of our marching line for the remembrance of the ex-chief.
2. We requested the Best Rescue Presentation be given by Mrs. DeGroat in Frankie's memory.
We hope everyone enjoyed our march.
We would like to give a shout-out to S.W. Johnson for hosting this year's parade, the officials of RCVFA for ensuring the smooth operation of the parade and the Town of Haverstraw/Village of West Haverstraw for their support.
