Volunteer Hose Company 2 members responded to a co-alarm call at 1 Bloom St., Garnerville, around 8:47 a.m. in the residential house. While enroute, we received updated information from PD on the scene reporting smoke from the residence. The first due engine stretched two lines to extinguish all visible fire that was located on the first floor. While first due, truck and rescue conducted primary searches on the floors above, laddered the building, and checked for extensions, which both proved negative. Stony Point Fire Department was on the scene, providing a Fast Team along with Haverstraw FD's engine and manpower as interior members operated. Within 40 minutes, the fire was brought under control.
